True of any profession / education combination.
I went to school to be in marketing, but not necessarily as a CMO. You learn and adapt as you get "in there and figure it out."
Also true is using feedback in your growth. Not only making yourself comfortable with (likely) critical feedback, but also making the person providing the feedback comfortable in being honest.
Tough trick, that.
